ABSTRACT It is an object of this invention to provide a system and method for storing and retrieving documents stored in a variety of formats, for efficient storage and easy retrieval. The plurality of formats that the original representations adhere to is addressed by proposing a uniform file format wherein the data is stored in such a way that it is easily retrieved, irrespective of the original representation. The system of the present invention facilitates efficient storage and easy retrieval of data or documents, which are stored in a plurality of formats, such as rich-text, TIFF, PDF etc. The method of the present invention is used for storing and retrieving documents stored in a plurality of formats comprising the steps of accepting the documents or data in a plurality of formats; converting the documents into a uniform file format by demarcating the documents into control and data sections and storing the same for retrieval at a later stage; |
